It really does. I’m in the middle of a build and i have a lot of mechanical experience including [REDACTED] and [REDACTED]. This stuff is shit or shyte for your NC17 listeners. The bottom bracket/crank system is like a retarded brother of Shimano. You need a huge allen key to get a recessed ti bolt that holds the two pieces together in the middle of the bottom bracket. It has a torque rating but you either have to purchase the campy tool or make your own to get at the recessed bolt. If this isn’t done properly the two halves of the crank will separate causing not only irreversible damage to an extremely expensive crank but can also leave you stranded with absolutely no chance of jerry-rigging a solution.
It’s highly recommended (by word of mouth) that this bolt be lock-tightened into place as they tend to mysteriously loosen. the skeleton brakes are so precious (i guess) that they use star-shaped allen key (or… ) on the recessed mount bolt AND on the brake shoe mount bolts. The proper star-shaped allen key is not supplied nor is it mentioned in the freakin 10-lb catalog from which it was ordered. I guess it’s so you can’t steel them. Well you can find these; in the trash!! I’ve never been a fan of Campy chains and when they went to 10-speed they made them even LESS reliable. Lucky for campy users, they don’t cost an arm and a leg.
