ColdSprints #3 Tonight.

Minneapolis, MN-

Tonight is the third installment of the ColdSprints indoor racing series at Grumpy’s Bar in Downtown Minneapolis. The first two nights of computerized roller-racing raised close to $800.00 for the Second Harvest foodshelf. Tonight’s racing is a benefit for the Mark Loesch Memorial Fund and organizers are hoping for another large crowd to take in the evenings festivities.

Attendees are expected from all over the midwest as individuals from Chicago, Duluth and Des Moines are expected to attend. All eyes will be on Maria Stewart (Velo Bella) and Ted Schmid (Speedfix) to see if they show to defend their titles. This month the competition will be tighter than ever with more racers understanding the intricacies of the roller style racing.

If you are looking for something exciting tonight head on down to Grumpy’s Downtown for a beer and an exciting night of racing. Attempt to throw down a qualifying time, and before you know it you could be a ColdSprints champion.

This conversation has been had. After going to #2, it’s clear that the turnout would not be nearly as good without the fork mounts. Of the ~80 qualifiers, maybe 15 of them can actually ride on rollers, much less sprint on them.

you mean you can ride on real rollers and even sprint. no way! wow! you guys are the coolest.

hey, all i saw was some people there having a few beers and having some fun (and making a donation too).

i say keep up the fun and not worry about being as cool as the real roller riders.

Roller Rider is an obvious example of someone that is “lame.”

I like, Dan Cleary and others, were more than stoked to have a few beers, raise $300 for a family in need AND have a great time hanging out.

Thanks for all that came out to make ColdSprints #3 another successful event!

Bikethrow is trying to make good of the MN Cycling community and it’s people like you that ruin it. Grow up.

Roller Rider, I asked to see a post of the results. You can have fun and still be competitive. If you are going to be a competitive sprinter, I believe you need a certain amount of leg speed. Roller sprints pretty much point this out.
