The Grandstay boys led by Ian Stanford swept the top 3 positions at the 2008 Synergy Time Trial in Washington County this morning with a time of 55:36–this is the same winning time as that of last years winning time by Tim Mulrooney. Daniel Casper and Brian Koeneman rounded out the podium. Stanford’s time was a full 1min and 15seconds clear of Casper despite missing a turn half way through the race. Team Synergy riders Aric Hareland and Tim Mulrooney made the top 5 with Jim Cullen on the outside of the group in 6th place, but taking the honors for the Masters 35+ Open field.

The womens race was won by Theresa Moriarty of Flanders followed by Lori Jug of Kenda Tire and Cam Schmitz rounding out the podium for the Flanders squad. Team Kenda Tire is a strong womens regional team based out of the Chicago area. Jug last raced for the Cheerwine squad in 2006 and has since moved over to the Kenda Tire team.

The mens Category 3 field was dominated by Grumpy’s/LGR riders Matt McDonough and Joe Johnson. McDonough took the victory 5 seconds infront of Johnson with Joe Moyer rounding out the podium for Peace Coffee. It should also be mentioned that the new Peace Coffee kits for 2008 are the BTDC editors choice for best updates for the new season.

Perhaps the biggest winner on the day was Barb Harrick (Velo Bella) who took home a pair of brand new HED 3 wheels. The wheels were donated by Now Bike and Fitness the sponsor of the event.
