Rules:
Stock bike must be used (drop or bull-horn bars), funny bikes are allowed (650/700c combo)
no aero bars
no aero helmets
no deep section wheels (rim depth must be less than 40mm)
Bonuses:
15 second bonus for fixed gear (must have one functioning brake by USAC rules)
15 second bonus for toe straps/cage pedals
Awards given to fastest overall male and female (including any time bonus)

Yes! thanks BTDC for the headline. I hope all the dog regulars take on this challenge if you are in contantion or not. I may have a another categoty for the ride who rides closet to their aero time. this is not only a challenge but there is a small experiment taking place behind the scenes. but it’s important that Black Dog regulars take on the challenge but of course new faces are welcome.

mustache bars ok.. aero/tri bars NO. if you can ride black dog road with elbows on the the tops of drop bars you really are the King.
spoke count irrelavent but you must have no more than 40mm rim depth.
skinsuits OK.

Posted 12 Aug 2008 at 3:40 pm ¶Riding in the drops wearing a skin suit on 12 spoke 38 mm rim wheels is frankly an aero-lite setup; not stock. If it were a bona fide Stick challenge riders should get a 35 sec penalty for riding aero-lite.

stick rides ardennes wheels.. 18f/24r as will I tonight.. as will the winner of the challenge. 32 hole wheels are obsolete in today’s road racing world. they’re made for cobblestone riding. you may be confusing stock with ‘retro’ and i would add ‘retro’ bonuses for more spokes if i felt like counting [**** -ed.]ing spokes all night. lycra skinsuits have been around since ‘82. I like the wool idea but i have a wool castelli jersey that’s made of mereno wool an fits like a god damn glove.. no penalties, only bonuses.
