The suns rays poked out too late to save the season finale in Blaine.  photo by FryeÂ
Rain washes out the final night of racing at the velodrome. No number of fans could have dried the boards in Blaine which was supposed to be fan appreciation night at the NSC velodrome. The final night of racing will not be rescheduled causing the season to close with a wimper not a bang.Â
The biggest bang of the season was obviously the inaugural Fixed Gear Classic which drew top national and international for a spectacular weekend of racing.
Brian Crosby of Speedfix Racing finished the season on top in the Track Rider of the Year Competition (TROY) once again and will sport the number one on his jersey for another year.
Melissa Dahlmann edged her sister Heidi Dahlman by just four points to take home TROY honors in the women’s field. Defending TROY champion Gwen Steele of Speedfix Racing finished fifth in the season long competition.Â

It’s a fair point to question that. We end the season on a total down note. Not to understate what a good season it was in Blaine but it’s like double bogeying the 18th hole. Bad taste in the mouth.
What’s the hurry to move on? Some people were looking to end the season with a little fun and one last test. A week for safety margin on a permit and insurance doesn’t seem too much of a reach. I’m sure the peeps training for nationals would have appreciated it too.
Good to see Cyber Cop is back on btdc!

If it’s that much of an issue - take Bob to task over it at the winter track meetings. I’m sure he would appreciate the input.
Though I know what his answer will be
