Due to technical difficulties, this week’s podcast is being offered as a written transcript.
*Podcast begins with some lame obscure song Homme added later. The song audio is left too high as Frye begins to speak, muddling all audio but masking one of many “umms”.
Frye: Welcome to podcast #51. We’re coming to you from Dunn Bros in downtown Minneapolis. I’m Andy Frye and I’m joined as always by Tim “Super Rookie” Hayes and Darrin Homme.
Homme: Hello.
Rookie: Hey dudes.  I’m so stoked to talk about cross!
Homme: What’s on tap Frye?
Frye: We’ll recap the Twin Ball race in Darwin with an exciting tale from Rookie about how he hugged a tree and discuss the Wirth Classic. I will drone on and on about me, Rookie will interrupt both of us repeatedly and then we’ll talk about the cross awesomeness coming up this weekend at Ham Lake and Hudson. Darrin is …
Rookie interrupts: Dudes, the turnout at the Twin Ball was lame but the race was fun, thanks to Flanders. Dewey rocks! Homme, have you ever done the Twin Ball race?
Homme: No.
Rookie: I was rockin’ along during the B race and was passing a bunch of guys but then I hit a tree. It was awesome, definitely not lame. Dewey rocks!
Frye: Who won the B race?
Rookie:Â Who cares, the world revolves around the cat 1/2s and Dewey won!
Homme: Did you race Frye?
Frye: No, I raced Sunday at Wirth.
Rookie: Homme, did you ever do The Wirth Classic?
Homme: No. How’d the race go Frye?
Rookie: It was totally a mountain bikers course and kind of lame but it was in the city so it was cool. Paul Schoening and I made out in the woods.Â
Frye: Good to hear Rook. To answer your question Homme, it was a challenging course, pretty narrow and things were going well until I suffered a mechanical.
Homme:Â What happened?
Frye:Â I was involved in …
Rookie interrupts: Dudes, it was so cool, Spencer got a flat in the A race and I gave him my bike and he rocked out on the Masi. Lemieux got his first cross win. I talked to Doug after the race and he said he crashed. I talked to Dewey after the race and he said Pat was riding real strong. I talked to PattyCakes after the race and he said “it was a hard fought battle”.Â
(This portion was edited out for your convenience. It contained more Rookie self-promotion, Frye saying umm a bunch, Rookie saying dudes a lot, Homme playing on his iPhone, Frye talking about himself, etc.)
Homme:Â I heard they were throwing firecrackers and doing whiskey hand-ups in the woods.
Rookie: Yeah, it was total awesomeness! I stopped and had a beer with them and I talked to a bunch of people who said it was awesome.
Frye: Great to hear Rookie. Next weekend it’s the Ham Lake race on Sat and Big Ring Flyers host another cross race in Hudson on Sunday.
Homme:Â Why didn’t you take any pictures on Sunday Frye.
Frye:Â I didn’t want to.
Rookie: Okay, let’s wrap this thing up I got to go work on some more top secret stuff.
Frye: Thanks for listening folks. This has been podcast #51 here on bikethrow dot com. For Homme and Rookie this is Frye saying ride safe.
Homme: Shit is this thing on?
Rookie:Â Crap man, I thought I pushed it?
