Strats posted a great interview with Paula Plant today on her blog. My only gripe is that she didn’t write it exclusively for BTDC.

P: Yes and no. Most of the time we don’t care about the same things; at some level we probably care, but we have different priorities. In the racing scene we only have 2 fields (when we’re lucky) so it’s much simpler - which means we have little or no interest in the men’s ROY categories and that lengthy discussion on the message boards. …

The Nature Valley Grand Prix disrupts rush hour traffic in downtown Minneapolis and Saint Paul so that skinny guys and gals in lycra can ride on major city streets. It land locks residents and businesses in these cities along with Cannon Falls, Mankato and Stillwater for hours. We are an all around pain in the butt.
MBRC (Minneapolis Bicycle Racing Club) has a rich tradition in MN bike racing. I was looking for a way to uncover part of this past when Jim Flanders handed me exactly what I was looking for, “History of the MBRC” which was written for a club newsletter a few years back.
