I have an old Pope chainless bicycle. This bike was made in 1899, by Pope bicycle co. It is in great condition and functional and rideable. I would like some input on a tag on the bicycle that states 1900 cycle path license tag 8680 Minneapolis. Does anyone have any information concerning city license tags for bicycles at the turn of the century. I will be glad to send pictures of the bicycle and the tag to anyone that can help me.

A good picture of the tag is shown on my craigslist ad. It is easy to find Craigslist Sanfrancisco. Bicycles just type in 1899 chainless model 59 pope, and the ad will come up, and a picture of the tag is shown. Thanks for the interest and input I have already received starvnmarvin@comcast.net
